CHENNAI SAHODAYA SCHOOLS COMPLEX

The Central Board of Secondary Education launched the Sahodaya Movement mainly to introduce and experiment several nation-wide programmes, projects and activities for educational renewal and improvement. The Board is of the view that the active participation of schools in the true Sahodaya “spirit of living together “is a great source of trust, confidence and strength to CBSE as a National Board. The total number of Sahodayas has swelled to more than 110. Sahodaya Clusters from an important link between CBSE and its affiliated schools and it is a growing necessity today to be a part of it.

The Chennai Sahodaya Schools Complex (CSSC) is the first and the oldest Schools Complex started in 2003 in the state of Tamil Nadu with the guidance and support of CBSE. It is a non-political, non-religious, non-commercial body meant totally for “Educational Advancement “of its members. It shall aim at academic and professional growth of the members and their constituent staff. The Chennai Sahodaya Schools Complex (CSSC) functions only as an advisory body and will not be involved directly or indirectly in the academic and /or administrative functioning of the member institutions.

The main activities of the Chennai Sahodaya Schools Complex (CSSC) are continuous conduct of training/orientation programme for member schools. Subject specific workshops for teachers and students. Generic & Leadership workshop for teachers and students. Conduct of Academic, Sports & Art programmes, events and competitions for member school students and staff. Conferment of Life Time Achievement Award, Best Principal Award and Best Teacher Award every year. CSSC Common Examination for Classes-10 & 12. Extends honorary advisory help to schools with regard to academics and administration as per the CBSE guidelines. Conducts City/State/Regional/National Level Conferences/Summits as per the guidelines of CBSE.

Chennai Sahodaya acts as a mentor or bridge between CBSE and member schools maintaining the moto of Sahodaya movement as “Raising/Growing Together”
